Epping, Theydon, Loughton etc
Probably one of the subjects done to death on here, but I'm looking for a decent country pub with good food somewhere in or around these areas, for a Sunday.

Any suggestions thrown my way much appreciated!

Thanks all so far.

Blue Boar looks a good menu.

Massive fan of Smiths, but want to try somewhere new. The one in Wapping is also excellent.

Alec's in Navestock is excellent .Owned by the ex owner of Smiths in Ongar.
It's a bit posey and toppy but great service and food.I personally prefer Smiths but both are worth trying.

Boar good enough. I've been to The Crown in Brentwood twice and it was very good. It's the old Rose and Crown on the ONGAR road. Food was spot on. Alec's nice also.
